Painters Marsha Hammel and Laura Ralls Duprey have known each other since their art college days. For the month of March, Marsha will be graciously welcoming Laura as a Guest Artist in Residence at her Hendersonville studio. On Friday, March 1 from 5 to 7 pm, Marsha will host a public reception for Laura at her studio at 1901 Kanuga Road. The reception will give Laura a chance to share details about the fascinating and ancient technique of painting in oils on board while using plaster in the process.

We're so excited to highlight the work of local painter Beth Beasley in the next in our series of Artist Spotlight events, happening from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 16. This informal meet-and-greet event will reveal some of the new work she’s made this year in both water media and oils that’s to a Regional Artist Support Grant received through the North Carolina Arts Council. Beth’s pieces explore the concept of landscape, particularly events through time and a vision of Earth that goes beyond the superficial.

Join us from 2 to 4 p.m. this Saturday, September 16 for an artist spotlight featuring painter Cathey Stoney and Haley Jelinek, two artists new to the gallery. Cathey, a resident of Saluda who works in oil and cold wax, is a career artist and retired art educator. Haley is based in Asheville and creates functional pieces in blown glass workshops across the area.

Drop in anytime between 2-4 p.m. to meet Valerie and find out more about her inspiration and the techniques she employs in her studio. Valerie's work radiates the serene balance found in nature as well as a kind of wordless joy.
Valerie is an active artist in her community of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, acting as a champion for artists in that area. When she's not doing her own work, you can often find Valerie on the campus of the Penland School of Craft helping out.

We hope you’ll join us to celebrate Bonnie and Jim Rash, the collaborative couple behind Sacred Oak Pottery, in an event from 2-4 p.m. this Saturday, June 24, to launch the new lines from their studio and welcome them to The Gallery!
Bonnie, the founder and long-time owner of Silver Fox Gallery, now creates functional pottery with her co-creator husband Jim from their Sacred Oak Pottery studio in Dana. The influence of Bonnie’s decades of experience curating fine craft for Silver Fox as well as her numerous professional interior design projects show in the quality and form of their functional pottery pieces. Jim does most of the throwing while Bonnie handles trimming each piece and the glazing process. We are so proud to have Bonnie and Jim’s Sacred Oak Pottery here!
