‘Palomino’ came to me in a dream the night after I finished this piece, so it seemed fitting as a name for this piece. It just felt right.
No, not the horse. No, not a city or geographic destination. The palomino in mind is a song from Duran Duran’s 1988 album, Big Thing. “Palomino” is a dreamy, atmospheric, sexy song that just seems like it was made as a life track (if movies have soundtracks, well….). It’s warmth and chilly textures float around the lyrics like waves of gooseflesh on your skin. “Palomino” is a beautifully timeless song everyone should hear, and I’ve seen it waltz on the wind.
