About Transparent

As a metalsmith, I typically don’t make work with symbolism, and choose instead to craft pieces that are aesthetically pleasing to the wearer. For this exhibition, titled  “Transcendence,” I have chosen to work with tourmalated quartz for its transparency. I believe there must be transparency in life in order to achieve balance. This type of quartz has threads of black tourmaline running throughout; these two minerals combined are believed to have the ability to restore peace and tranquility.
