Art in Bloom Exhibit

In a celebration of ephemeral beauty, The Gallery at Flat Rock is continuing its annual tradition of pairing professional floral designers with fine artists. The resulting imaginative interpretations of juried artworks will form the basis of the 7th annual ‘Art in Bloom’ exhibit.

Join us for the Preview Party on September 2, 5pm - 8pm which will kick off the Art in Bloom Weekend. Tickets are $45 and include a artfully created fare and beverages to enjoy on the premise or at home.

The exhibit will be open from 9am - 5pm, on Saturday September 3 and Sunday, September 4. Admissions is $5, unlimited visits and payable at the door.

Both Katherine Maloney and Alec Hall cite a deep interest in animals of all kinds, and while Katherine works in clay and Alec works in pastels, the two artists align in their lifelong appreciation of the natural world. “Sacred Animalia” runs October 8- November 1 and is free and open to the public.

The Quarantine Painters: Plein Air Painters Gather at a Distance During COVID-19

The Gallery at Flat Rock is excited to present an exhibition of the work of six landscape painters that have been meeting regularly “en plein air” during this time of social distancing as a way to encourage their personal creative work. The six Western North Carolina artists—who include Scott Boyle, Jim Carson, Gary Cooley, Mitch Kolbe, Rich Nelson, and Richard Oversmith, have been regularly meeting for socially distanced outings in locations around the Asheville and Hendersonville areas.
