"The most sustainable practice is to produce that which never needs to be replaced."

Bethanne Knudson.

The Gallery at Flat Rock is excited to present the third in The Artist Table art-immersion dining series with “Heirloom”—recognizing a Hendersonville venture linking local artisanal textile production and high fashion design.

This dining event will take place in the gallery from 6-9 p.m. on October 3. In keeping with the gallery’s mission to act as an incubator for creativity, the Artist Table series creates a unique opportunity for highly talented people working in a variety of fields to share ideas in collaboration, pushing ordinary expectation to the limit.

The Artist Table: Heirloom will highlight the shared vision of excellence and sustainability between textile producer Bethanne Knudson and Sew Co founder Libby O’Bryan in a fresh venture for both. At the event, O’Bryan and Knudson will unveil the new Rite of Passage women’s clothing collection and a display of beautiful handcrafted pieces all created at The Oriole Mill, Knudson’s fine textile mill where O’Bryan’s company Sew Co. is based. The artists will speak individually about their work and then talk about their shared vision during dinner.

Guests will enjoy a sumptuous dinner prepared by Budy Finch Catering & Revelry, a boutique catering business owned by a husband and wife team, Kip and Amelia Lindsay, who offer thoughtfully presented and delicious fare. Wine chosen by Nicole Baumann of Crate Wine Market & Project will round out this special meal.

Tickets are $85 per person and the event is limited to 40 guests.
