The Gallery at Flat Rock is excited to present the second in The Artist Table art-immersion dining series that celebrates the creative process with “Bloom” from 6-9 p.m. on June 19 at the gallery.
In keeping with the gallery’s mission to act as an incubator for creativity, the Artist Table series creates a unique opportunity for highly talented people working in a variety of fields to share ideas in collaboration, pushing ordinary expectation to the limit.
The Artist Table: Bloom will celebrate the collaboration between Greenville-based artists Darin R. Gehrke and Glory Day Loflin, who have created an experimental series together blending Gehrke’s Eastern-inspired functional pottery and Loflin’s fresh, bold colorful paintings. The artists will speak individually about their work and then talk about their collaboration during the dinner.
The event will also feature the talents of Hendersonville floral designer Larry Crume, who will display his floral work in ceramic pieces made by Gehrke. Both Crume and Chuck Connolly, from Nosh Catering GVL, will talk about how they respond creatively to the objects that provide an aesthetic setting, of sorts, for floral design and cuisine, respectively.
The Artist Table: Bloom will feature a representative of Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards on hand with a spring drink for the diners’ enjoyment. Tickets are $95 per person and include a full dinner; the event is limited to 40 participants.
