KATE THAYER | Oils

I am an artist of nature’s ways – nature’s sorcery and spirit. The trees, the streams and the flora of our mountains are my muses. There are special places that speak to me. When they touch my heart, I want to share their voices – to portray how they speak to our hearts, our spirits. I try to capture their utter seductiveness, in all their sacred ways.

From textile art to the culinary arts to garden design and painting, Kate has always sought creative expression. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she earned degrees from Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin followed by considerable post-graduate education.

Since then, her “classrooms” have been the major galleries and museums around the world. As an accomplished oil and pastel artist her work has been juried and awarded in international, national, and local exhibitions.

She is always eager to learn and is forever pushing the boundaries of art from her current home and studio in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
