My mobile phone and one of my all-time favorite books, “100 Years of Solitude” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

I am especially moved by immigrants, laborers, and craftspeople from all over the world who inhabit the outlying areas of cities, towns, and neighborhoods. The freedom, vulnerability, and humor with which they construct their own communities are a source of inspiration for me.
