En Plein Air Workshop

Jim Carson
June 22, 23, & 24
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
$475

We are teaming up with artist Jim Carson for his first painting workshop with the gallery! Jim is a nationally recognized painter whose workshops often generate waiting lists within the first days of being announced.

This three-day workshop is slated for June 22, 23 and 24. Being a versatile instructor, Jim will accommodate students at any skill level. We are limiting this class to 8 persons so that we can allow for proper social distancing yet still remain a cohesive group to allow for the most learning and feedback.

Jim’s national recognition includes the Neil Patterson Award of Excellence (as part of the 2019 Oil Painters of America National Juried Exhibition for Traditional Oils), and the Associate Member Award of Distinction at the American Impressionist Society Exhibition, in 2015.

His favorite subject matter, whether he’s working on a landscape outdoors, a cityscape, or an interior, or still life, is catching and carrying the light and the patterns of shadows into the painting. He’s especially recognized for the creative color balance he brings to his paintings and his bold and spontaneous brushwork.

Jim is a Signature Member of The American Impressionist Society, a member of Plein Air Painters of the Southeast (PAPSE—a group of distinguished Southern artists), a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, and a member of the historic Salmagundi Club in New York City.

This workshop includes a healthy lunch, snacks and drinks, and wine to wind down at the end of the day.😎 The final day will include a show-and-tell session and critique in the gallery.

The cost for the workshop is $475. Email Suzanne Camarata with any additional questions you may have!
