Art in Bloom 2023

About

Think of it as ‘art with an expiration date.’ Art in Bloom presents the artful pairing of colorful, fresh blooms with sculpture and canvases to create a new experience for art lovers. It’s a visual conversation that’s amplified through the inherent transience of the exhibit.

In a celebration of ephemeral beauty, The Gallery at Flat Rock is pairing twenty professional floral designers with an equal number of artists to present imaginative interpretations of juried works of art for its eighth annual Art in Bloom exhibit, September 1-3, 2023.

Here’s how it works: professional floral designers study the artwork and then create fresh floral interpretations based on what they experience. These floral pieces are exhibited in tandem with the artwork that inspired the designer, creating a dynamic visual display. ‘Art in Bloom’ originated in 1976 at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.

A Preview Reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 1st will launch our Eighth Annual Art in Bloom. The reception is $75 to attend and reservations are required. The Art in Bloom Preview Party is the official kickoff to the festival weekend. Enjoy creative fare and drinks and be among the first to see the artful interpretations of Art in Bloom with the artists in attendance. Read more about what to expect at the Preview Party here.

A limited number of Preview tickets are available and need to be purchased in advance.

Art in Boom will be on display daily from 9 am - 5 pm, on September 2 and 3. Admissions is a $5 fee (cash/check), unlimited visits and payable at the door. The show will also be available for online viewing.

Proceeds from the weekend’s events will benefit the Feed the Need program at St. Gerard House.

2023 Art in Bloom Lineup!

Here it is, folks, the Art in Bloom 2023 lineup of artists, matched with the floral designers that will be interpreting their work of art! We are beyond excited for this year's event.  A big "THANK YOU" to Susan Casey and Stoney Lamar for taking the time and effort to shape this exhibition through the jurying process.  There's so much talent on both the art and floral design "sides." Daisy Dogwood the bear will also be there for the weekend!
