Jane Voorhees has made Asheville, NC her home since the 1980s. Drawn to the extraordinary beauty of the western North Carolina mountains, she is inspired by the ever changing colors and moods of this landscape.
Jane grew up in a large creative family. Her father, Edwin and mother Mildred, both painters, left NYC corporate life in 1964 moved the family of eight to the coast of North Carolina in order to pursue their art interests. Influenced by her parent's creative endeavors and their artistic nurturing, Jane as well as several of her siblings have developed artistic careers of their own. A story about the art interests of the Voorhees family was featured in Our State Magazine, May 2003.
