Barbara Remensnyder | Painting

My goal is to capture the brilliance of nature. I use color to draw you in, to look deeper into my paintings, to want to be there. I’m fascinated with the rhythms, designs and the wonder of blending the colors of nature and I strive to show that in my work. The joy of pure color is the catalyst that draws you to look more deeply into my work.
— Barbara

Encouraged in artistic exploration from early childhood by her artist mother, today Barbara works in a variety of media – watercolor, acrylics, gold leaf and difficult-to-handle alcohol inks – and in genres that include portraiture, landscape and still life.

All her work is characterized by brilliant bold colors. Her talent with hard-to-control alcohol inks is a skill she passes along to students in the many workshops she teaches locally, near her current home in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
